Digging Potatoes

Summer has passed, but the spuds have not yet been harvested.
Our little granddaughter is built close to the ground and loves to work, so this was great fun for her.

The field crew decided it was time for a carrot break.

Down to the pond.

Washing the carrots.

Mmmm....nothing like a carrot fresh from the garden.

Back to work.

Almost two pailfuls!

We spread the potatoes on the lawn to brush off most of the dirt.

The deputy  USDA inspector arrives.....

And examines the produce.

The potatoes pass inspection!

Time to bag them up to put in the basement.  The senior USDA inspector is seen at the right, worn out from his supervisory duties.

All done!

Back inside for art class.
