| We made lengths of "rope" from our sheep wool. First we carded it with a drum carder. Then we the wool off in a long narrow strip through a 1/2 inch hole in a bottle cap. I used cordless drill to spin it. Then we folded the ends back together so that it twisted into a a tight bulky braid. I have to explain this because I inadvertently deleted all the pictures of this process. Go figure.... |

| This is the natural, undyed color of the wool. Our Icelandic sheep are white, brown and black. |

| Because they are so thick, the braids had to be drawn through the warp by hand - so called "finger weaving". |
