| First you cut the rags into strips. | 
| Old woolen coats and shirts make the warmest rugs. | 
| Then you beat them into the warp. | 
| And they become a rug. | 
| If you have a long warp, you can make many rugs, one after another.  The loom is handmade by a friend who has passed on.  His last two rugs were still on the loom when it was given to us. | 
| Once they are off the loom, the finished rugs must first be approved by the rug inspector. |
