How to Weave a Rag Rug

First you cut the rags into strips.

Old woolen coats and shirts make the warmest rugs.
Then you beat them into the warp.

And they become a rug.

If you have a long warp, you can make many rugs, one after another.  The loom is handmade by a friend who has passed on.  His last two rugs were still on the loom when it was given to us.

Once they are off the loom, the finished rugs must first be approved by the rug inspector.

The finished product.
